NO ENTRY: US soldiers stop VP Binay from entering UN relief center?

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Here’s another news that Binay’s supporters certainly won’t like. An image of Vice President Jejomar Binay with two Caucasian looking soldiers in an almost awkward gesture of handshake is circulating the Internet.

The picture comes with a caption telling the story that the VP “tried to enter the restricted area of (United Nations) UN Humanitarian Relief Centre,” despite UN’s orders.

United Nations supposedly ordered a no-touch policy on their relief goods for Yolanda victims against local politicians last week. Below is the viral image from Facebook with almost 52 thousand shares and 10 thousand comments that started the unconfirmed report:

We already reached out to Joey Salgado Media Affairs Head of the Office of the Vice President and VP Binay to get their reaction on the issue. VP Binay has been under public scrutiny following what netizens described as “epal” moves.

  5. that is plain gutless stupidity... America indirectly told PH Politician not to stick their faces in US relief operation by ordering their soldiers not to let Gov`t officials touch the items the brought for the people...im sure everybody knows that

    1. This story, no matter how false it is shows the tension between the people and the government.
Yes it is good news that the world prevents Filipino officials from touching aid, sad that the 'elected' are in my view so crooked, self centered and heartless...

Typical pinoy na ata ang oo nalang sa hinarap sa kanya at wala nang imbestiga muna. Juan Tamad na nga Juan Tanga pa ba?

  49. This is what media stands for. We must elaborate the picture so well not just this one angle. The captured picture was vague. We didn't see the other angle of it yet are prejudices are inevitable enough to bash our VP. I'm not saying that this picture is unreliable or not credible, but we never know the truth behind it. I am not against Binay nor supporting him. I am just a student studying Mass Communication to further share to people what I've learned in our class.

Honestly the only to blame about the government is the people who appoint them in their position . if only filipinos vote wisely phil. wil never be like this. It is always ourselves to blame.Filipinos are great and one of the best amongst the races the only problem is we lack self discipline.

  58. the one who says that US should take over the philippines has no idea what he/she is talking about, , do u have any idea how our ancestors sacrificed their lives for the freedom we are enjoying now? they fought for us and for our country, have atleast bear a lil pride for ur race, .you dont wanna be an american .. believe me,. i understand where ur coming from, its because of desparation, frustration and disappointment tohow our government runs..we must not forget that because of us they are in their positions, we have no one to blame butbourselves,, if we have choose wisely it shouldnt be like this,. the success of the country isnt just from the government but from the people in it, filipinos are one of the best Amongst the races we just lack in self discipline that is essential for our countries success,. dont blame the government but urselves, if u dont like the government now u have the power to change it the problem with us is we dont know what we really want.
